Biography:

Francis studies the piano from the age of five, and violin from the age of eleven. After graduating in Perth, Western Australia, he pursues his musical studies in France in the Nice and Vence conservatories to obtain in 1981 a "Premier Prix" in classical piano.

At the same time he develops a passion for music recording. This choice leads him to Paris for a two year full time course in audio engineering where he obtains his diploma with honors.

After ten years of freelance engineering, he founds his own recording studio : Digital Rendez-Vous in Nice. From that point on, Francis cumulates numerous international references in all styles of music, not only as an engineer (see references), but also as producer.

Indeed, during recording sessions for Koch Records with the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, Francis draws the attention of world-renowned producer Michael Fine, 1992 Grammy Award winner. Michael later asks Francis to produce "Roby Lakatos & his Ensemble Tzigane's" first album for Deutsche Grammophon, which sells over 500 000 copies worldwide.

Francis also produces artists such as the composer Paul Cooper for C.R.I. Records New York (classical), Duo Patterson (classical), Robecchi (new age) and the trio Chasteau (jazz) for Ante Aeternum Records San-Francisco…
